Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? I have to admit, 2016 has been a challenging and exciting year all at the same time. We officially launched BTB in 2016 and received our 501c3. God has amazingly provided funds for a new guide and discussion cards. Our groups have doubled across the country. I’ve had the opportunity to speak to several groups and organizations this year. We’re about to sponsor our second BTB training next week for group leaders and friends. Our online group has grown from 69 people in 2015 to 8400 with a waiting list of over 300. We started a BTB leader group this year. We have over 400 leaders across the country with registered groups and over 300 participating in our online leader group. We are excited about all that is to come in the New Year.
It’s difficult not to become discouraged with the deteriorating conditions of race relations not just in America but across the globe. I’m hopeful because of you, yes you! The people who have supported Be the Bridge’s mission and vision. People who have joined BTB groups and engaged in this difficult and uncomfortable conversations. We say this often, “Racial Reconciliation will cost you”! We’re thankful that despite the tension, more people are willing to engage in the messiness of this work. Transformation begins with each person becoming aware of racial injustice and the need for racial justice that leads us toward racial reconciliation. Take a look at this video. Consider how this conversation can be useful and life-changing in your church or organization. Bridge-Building isn’t easy but it’s necessary. We want to see “Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. This is a big vision. It will take big prayers from people like you!
